Accounting as a Career

Accounting can be a very rewarding career, with potential for growth and a very generous salary.
You can begin as an entry level associate in any accounting firm and move up the ranks in just a few years through on-the-job performance and additional certifications.

Not only this, but accountants will always be in demand! Every company needs someone to keep their expenses within budget and to forecast future expenditure, making accounting a very stable career.

It can take a few years until you begin to see benefits of a career in accounting, as you will need to take additional examinations to become ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA qualified.

The ATI accountant technician course can be a great way to develop the necessary skills and knowledge needed to excel in these examinations and in a career in accounting.
Although there are different types of accountants, our courses allow you to establish a clear career path, as the skills you learn are versatile and can be applied to many different areas in the field of accounting.

Full-Time

Our full-time study option is aimed at people who are looking to gain a professional qualification who can attend college on a daily basis.
The course is run through our partner colleges and students are expected to attend four days a week.
Our partner colleges are located all throughout Ireland, so you can be sure to find one near you!

Part-Time

Our part-time course is also run through our partner colleges, and it involves students attending evening classes twice weekly.
It is most suited for professionals looking to upskill or students who have other commitments and cannot attend college on a daily basis.

Apprenticeship (ROI)

Our apprenticeship programme is a two-year work-based education training programme. It is fully funded by SOLAS and apprentices study with a local partner college, while simultaneously earning significant work experience and earning a salary of at least €19,890 per annum. At the end of the two years, successful candidates are awarded with a Level-6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting.

Apprenticeship (NI)

We also run our apprenticeship programme in Northern Ireland as a Higher Level Apprenticeship in Accountancy and successful students are awarded with the ATI Level 5 Diploma for Accounting Technicians upon completion of the programme.
Similar to the ROI apprenticeship, college tuition is fully paid and you attend one day a week, while working with your employer for the other four days. This programme is perfect for students who prefer practical learning to full-time education.

Online

Our online course allows students to study for their Certificate and Diploma qualification from the comfort of their own home. It is aimed at busy professionals, people who work from home, or run their own businesses.
Students are fully supported throughout the programme with resources like interactive tutorials, recorded lectures, a student forum and additional revision resources.
