The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship online application for the September 2020 intake is now launched for this year!
Leading registered Apprenticeship employers across all sectors including practice, industry and the public sector will be hiring.
Interested leaving cert students 2020, school leavers, and graduates looking to start a career in accounting should consider this programme and apply now to increase their chances of attaining an employer offer for a place on the programme.

Accounting Technicians Ireland is the leading professional body for Accounting Technicians on the island of Ireland with more than 10,000 members and students and providing national and internationally recognised Accounting qualifications.
The national Accounting Technician Apprenticeship programme is a practical pathway to a career in Accounting where apprentices are mentored through a two-year work-based learning education training programme.
Accounting Technician Apprentices work four days a week with a registered employer and study one day a week with a partner college on a two-year employment contract.
In year one apprentices study:
- Financial Accounting
- Business Management
- Business Law
In year two apprentices study:
- Advanced Financial Accounting
- Advanced Taxation
- Management Accounting
- Financial Data Management
- For each module studied the assessment will include the combination of written examinations in May and completion of work-based tasks.
Apprentices earn at least €19,700 per annum and attain three weeks paid study leave by the employer. Apprentices college tuition is fully funded by SOLAS. Apprentices are supported by a college and employer mentor throughout the programme.
This national programme leads to a Level 6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting and provides exemptions from professional accountancy bodies and relevant third level colleges to complete further studies.
Accounting Technician apprentice’s skillsets are always required across all sectors so graduates are developing their career for the future.
Locations for this intake include Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Galway, Monaghan, Waterford and Wicklow and additional new regions will be confirmed soon.
