Accounting Technicians Ireland Appoints Margaret Ryan as New President

Dublin, IRELAND - June 23rd 2010: Accounting Technicians Ireland, the leading professional body for accounting technicians on the island of Ireland, has appointed Margaret Ryan FIATI as its new President for 2010/11. The appointment was officially made at the organisation's 27th Annual General Meeting held in Dublin.

Ms. Ryan has over 30 years experience in the finance sector in Ireland and has worked in a number of senior roles within the motor, recruitment, advertising, and printing industries. She is currently the Finance Manager with Murphy Chambers Cars Ltd and has been a member of Accounting Technicians Ireland since 1996. She is also one of the first Fellows of the professional body.

Ms. Ryan succeeds Aidan Collins FCA as President, who now assumes the position of Immediate Past President and remains on the organisation's three man Officer Group. The other Officer is newly elected Vice President Bernadette Costello FCA.

"Employers across all industries, particularly those in smaller businesses, are increasingly becoming aware of the important role that accounting technicians can play in managing an organisation's finance function. At the same time, we have seen a steady increase in our student body and in membership in recent years," said Ms. Ryan.

"Over the coming year, I'm looking forward to working with the team to continue to develop our qualification, expand our membership base, and further enhance our links with employers and the wider business community" said Ms. Ryan.
