All the information you need to start you on your career as an Accounting Technician.

Accounting Technicians Ireland offer a professional qualification in just two years.

Work experience

In addition to passing our exams, students are required to have at least two years relevant work experience. Accounting Technicians Ireland will recognise any relevant work experience obtained prior, during or after completing the examinations.

The reason for the work experience requirement is, as a member of Accounting Technicians Ireland, you will be offering your services as a qualified Accounting Technician so you must actually be able to do the work involved as well as understand the theory behind it.

We do not specify the precise work experience to be obtained given the variety of Accounting Technician roles. Obviously, if you are already working in industry, commerce, the public sector or private practice while studying for your qualification, you will be gaining valuable experience for yourself and putting the theory into practice.
